What to do
- Provide the students with the spelling words written on separate index cards, magnetic boards, magnetic letters, pencil, and paper.
- Instruct students to take turns, having one start as the reader of the words. Make sure they know not to show the word!!
- The other students should be in pairs each equipped with magnetic boards and magnetic letters.
- The reader of the words will read the first word out loud. The other students will work together in their pair to spell the word using the magnetic letters and boards.
- Once a pair arrives at their answer, the reader of the words will check their answer. If they are correct, they will then copy the word down onto the paper. If they are incorrect, they should try again.
- Students should continue this process with the rest of the words, changing who is the reader of the words each time.
