Goal: Given three definitions, discriminate between them to find the correct definition for content vocabulary.
Items: Content Vocabulary

What to do

  1. In pairs or small groups, students find the real definition for a content vocabulary word in the dictionary.
  2. On the form, students write the real definition and two other fake definitions.
  3. Students challenge a peer to find the correct definition. Or, as a whole group, discriminate between the definitions to discover the definition for the content vocabulary!

Students must be familiar with using a dictionary. Students must be able to work in peers or small groups. Great way to introduce new vocabulary and discover the definitions!
