Dolsch Word Bingo

| Materials: bingo boards with sight words already on them , sight word cards |
| Goal: Given sight words, the students will be able to read the word and match it to those on their board |
| Items: Dolsch word list |
What to do
- Show the students the individual sight word cards
- Students are to say the words on the card out loud with the teacher
- Students are to look at their indidual bingo boards, reading the words that they have
- Sight word cards are laid flat on the table
- One at a time, turn the cards over, if a student recognises the card and it is on their board, they are to say BINGO
- If child reads the card correctly, they are to place the card on their board, faced upside down
- Continue until a board is completly covered
- Huuray! Celebrate success in all of the students.

About this activity
I used to use this in Scotland, when introducing new key vocabulary words for reading books. The students loved it! They ended up making their own bingo boards for other books.
